ℹ️ About coldnumbers

Free Powerball® and Mega Millions® tools, built on real data and honest math.

What this site is

coldnumbers is an independent site with free tools for the two big US multi-state lotteries: every Powerball and Mega Millions result since 2016, a take-home tax calculator for every state, a ticket checker, an office-pool manager, number statistics and the math behind the odds.

Honest math

Lottery draws are random. No pattern, “hot” or “overdue” number, or weather reading changes the odds, and we say so plainly. We tested eight popular prediction methods on more than 1,600 real draws, and every one performed at chance. The full study, including a bug that once made our own method look better than it was, is here: Do lottery prediction systems work?

The number generators on this site are for fun. Their one practical use is helping you avoid the most popular combinations, which can reduce how many people you would share a jackpot with. They do not make a ticket more likely to win.

Where the data comes from

Winning numbers and jackpots come from the official multi-state lottery results feed and are updated after every draw. Draw-night weather comes from NOAA weather stations near each draw studio, through the Iowa Environmental Mesonet archive and the National Weather Service. Tax estimates use the 2026 IRS federal brackets and each state’s published lottery tax rules. If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we will fix it.

How the site makes money

coldnumbers is free. It is paid for by ads (Google AdSense) and by affiliate links to licensed lottery and gaming services, which may pay us a commission if you sign up. We never sell your personal information, and we never sell “winning systems”. Details: Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
